Progressive web apps, installable

Web app development for when a store listing is overhead.

Installable progressive web apps that work offline, update without a store release, and run on any phone or desktop from one build. Plus the dashboards and internal tools behind them.

Our approach to web app development.

A lot of the apps we get asked to build should not be in a store at all. An internal tool used by forty people, a dealer portal opened once a fortnight, a booking flow that arrives from a link: each of those pays the full cost of a store listing, two review cycles and an install prompt, and gets very little back for it.

A progressive web app skips all of that. It installs to the home screen, works offline, sends push on both major platforms now, and updates the moment you deploy rather than when a reviewer gets to you. For a large share of business software that is simply the better answer.

What it will not do is replace a native app where the hardware matters, and we will say so early. Background location, deep camera control, HealthKit and anything running for hours in the background still need a real app. The point of asking the question in week one is that you only pay for a store presence when it earns its place.

A dealer or partner portal opened occasionally
A flow people arrive at from a link or a QR code

Web app development services we offer.

Installable, offline-capable web, and the systems behind it.

Progressive web apps

Installs to the home screen, works offline, sends push, and updates the moment you deploy. One build for Android, iOS and desktop with no store listing to maintain.

8–12 weeks

Web applications and dashboards

The internal tools, admin panels and reporting that replace a shared spreadsheet. Roles, audit trails and exports built in rather than bolted on.

10–16 weeks

Web first, native later

Ship the web app, find out whether people use it, then build native for the part that earns it. The backend, the analytics and the design system all carry over.

8–12 weeks
Installs without a storeAdded to the home screen from the browser. No listing, no review queue, no forty per cent of users refusing to install anything.
Updates the moment you deployNo submission, no staged rollout, no waiting on a reviewer. It matters most for the things that change weekly.

Web app or real app, settled first.

We check what the product actually needs from the device. If it needs background location or deep camera work we say so and cost a native build instead, because a web app cannot do those things well.

Why teams pick us for web apps.

What clients say after being quoted for an app they did not need.

01

We ask whether you need an app at all

A store listing costs two review cycles and an install prompt. For a lot of internal and B2B software it buys nothing, and we would rather say that in week one.

What web app development
costs, and what shapes it.

A web app is usually the cheaper route, mostly because there is no second platform and no store process. Every engagement is scoped after a free consultation and the written proposal carries the number.

What is a progressive web app, in plain terms?

A website built so it behaves like an app. It installs to the home screen from the browser with no store involved, opens without browser chrome, works with no signal, and can send push notifications on both Android and iOS. For a large share of business software it is indistinguishable from a native app in daily use.

When do we actually need a native app instead?

When the product depends on the hardware. Background location running for hours, deep camera control, HealthKit, Bluetooth peripherals, heavy on-device processing, or anything that must run while the phone is locked. If your requirements sit there we will say so in week one and cost a native build instead.

Can a web app work offline?

Yes, and properly, if it is designed that way from the start. A cached shell, queued writes that sync when the signal returns, and honest states when there is nothing to show. Retrofitting offline afterwards usually means rewriting the data layer, which is why it is a week-one decision.

Do push notifications work on iPhone?

Yes, for installed web apps, though the user has to add it to the home screen first and the permission prompt behaves differently from a native app. If push is central to how your product works rather than a nice-to-have, that is worth weighing in the native-versus-web decision.

Is a web app cheaper than a mobile app?

Usually, and for two clear reasons rather than vague ones: there is one build instead of two, and there is no store process, no review cycles and no listing to maintain. The saving is real but it is not the whole justification, and we would rather you chose it because it fits than because it is cheap.

How do users find it if it is not in a store?

The same way they find your website, which for internal tools, dealer portals and link-driven flows is how they were always going to find it. If discovery through the App Store or Play is genuinely part of your acquisition plan, that is an argument for a real app and we will say so.

What does web app development cost in India?

There is no price list, because scope sets the number. We scope every engagement after a free consultation and put the figure in a written proposal, along with what would move it and what a native build would have cost instead.

Who owns the code and where does it run?

You own the repository from the first commit and it runs on infrastructure you control. There is no platform account to transfer and no store relationship to move, which is one of the quieter advantages of not being in a store at all.

Where are you based, and can you work with us outside Kolkata?

Our studio is on Chowringhee Road, Park Street, and Kolkata is our only office. We build web apps and PWAs for clients across India, including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune and Ahmedabad.

Do you work with clients outside India?

Yes. We have delivered in 23 countries across five continents, and we commit to four guaranteed overlap hours with US Eastern (18:30–22:30 IST), with a full overlap for the UK and Europe. The names are in the contract.
